Jonathan Garrett Green, J.D. (Write-In Candidate), a native of Pensacola, Florida, seeks office as your next U.S. House of Representatives, Florida - District One. He serves as the Chief Strategy Officer and Lead Mediator at the American Humanity Mediation Service, where he employs his extensive background in conflict resolution and mediation strategies to foster understanding and collaboration within communities. He also shares his expertise as a part-time faculty member in Criminal Justice at Columbia Southern University.

Jonathan's academic journey is marked by a commitment to justice and equity. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center in 2016, complementing it with a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Troy University in 2012 and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of South Alabama in 2009.

His professional repertoire includes significant roles in organizations dedicated to civil rights and community welfare. Prior to his current position, Jonathan served as Project Manager for the Southern Poverty Law Center's Alabama State Office. He has also excelled as the Lead Community Mediator for the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, Division on Civil Rights, where he conceived and implemented the "NJ Community Peacemaker Collaborative." This statewide initiative, which serves more than 9.2 million residents, stands as a testament to his expertise in designing collaboratively-focused community intervention models to reduce polarization on highly contentious issues.

Since 2010, Jonathan has honed his de-escalation and mediation skills within various capacities, turning to crisis response management and infrastructure design to successfully address complex conflicts. His credentials include certifications in professional and community mediation, project management, digital marketing and e-commerce, and specialized training as a U.S. Department of Justice, Community Relations Service: “Dialogues on Race” facilitator. He further distinguished himself by completing mediation training through the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service and earning certification from the Florida Supreme Court in Circuit Civil Mediation.

Jonathan Green previously sought the office of Mayor of Pensacola, Florida, demonstrating his commitment to public service and community development. His leadership was further exemplified by his service as co-chair of the Inaugural Pensacola Police Advisory Committee, where he played a critical role in fostering dialogue and accountability within law enforcement. Through his advocacy in social services and social justice, as well as his dedication to community education, Green continually pioneers effective change, working tirelessly to address the needs and concerns of residents across all communities. His multifaceted approach underscores his belief in the power of collaboration and informed action to uplift the community.

Throughout his career, Jonathan has served as a guest speaker at prestigious institutions, such as the Ohio State University's Moritz School of Law, and the American Bar Association’s Dispute Resolution 2023 Spring Conference, where he shared his national expertise in humanity mediation to navigate disputes within polarized communities concerning human and civil rights. He currently holds membership in the National Association of Certified Mediators, affirming his dedication to promoting effective mediation practices across the country.

As a legal scholar, educator, and mediator, Jonathan Garrett Green continues to champion human dignity and social justice through his transformative work in mediation and community engagement. His work is embodied through his advocacy of this campaign “for balancing politics and our American lives.”
